During the match-up on October 27, the SFU Red team beat Penn State Behrend in 3 out of the 5 games played.
Game one was not the best game of the series, but they still played defensively throughout. They started out strong with Dan "Danzz" O'Hara scoring a point within the first 24 seconds. Penn State kept attempting to score, but the SFU Red team was able to save. Eventually, the other team scored one point--evening the score to 1-1. The SFU Red team did not let this discourage them as they still put up a strong defense and offense. Mitch "Gersch" Wright was fighting hard to get a shot into their goal, but the other team was fighting back defensively. The game ended up going into overtime for a few minutes before Penn State Behrend scored a goal, making the final score 1-2 and a win for Behrend.
Game two was much better for the SFU Red team. Justin "Skizz" Birkhimer had a good push on the ball at first, but the other team was guarded their goal well throughout the whole five-minute game. The game had to go into overtime again, but this time the SFU Red team made a goal, leaving the final score 1-0 with a win for the Red team.
Game three was the best game for the team out of this 5-game series. Gersch was able to score the first goal of the game within the first 15 seconds of the game. Then Skizz scored the second and third goals, making the score 3-0. The team's offense was so effective that Gersch was able to score the 4
th and final goal of the game. Penn State Behrend wasn't able to get around the SFU Red team to score any points, so the final score was 4-0.
Game four was another game that did not end well for SFU. Gersch started out with a good push on the ball, but Penn State was able to take the ball away and score a goal. Gersch came back though and scored a point for the SFU Red team, evening the score 1-1. No one was able to score for the rest of the game, so they went into overtime. The other team was able to come out victorious for this round after they scored the final point in overtime. The final score was 1-2 for this game.
With both teams having 2 wins, this game was the tie breaker. SFU went into the game confident that they could win. This helped them win this game 2-0 with Danzz scoring both of the goals for the team.
Both teams played well, but SFU was able to come out victorious with a 3-2 win overall.
