The Forest Hills Rangers recently celebrated their first two students to receive collegiate esports scholarships. The Rangers invited members of the Saint Francis Esports program to celebrate these two students, the first of which, was Anna Stigers, who signed her National Intent to Compete form through the
National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE). Stigers plans to complete the 4+3 Exercise Physiology, and Physical Therapy program while competing in Rocket League within the
Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for the Red Flash.
Stigers was interviewed during the event regarding her commitment to Saint Francis Esports, and below are her responses.
What do you like about the program at the school you chose? How do you feel you fit into the program?
"I love that Saint Francis is the only college in the region with a dedicated facility for their program. They have truly dedicated their University to supporting an esports program, and I feel that I can share in that dedication with them."
What are your strengths for the program? What sets you apart from other competitors?
"I feel that I am going to be a serious competitor compared to others due to my experience competing in the high school league. But it isn't all business for me, I feel that I am able to make sure that we all have fun while competing."
How would you reflect on your high school career?
"I would say my high school career was successful, and very enjoyable. Being a member of this community meant that there was always a guarantee of laughter and fun every day. It was also an incredible experience being on the very first team for Rangers Esports for Rocket League. My teammates, adn friends were the best I could ahve asked for!"
Stigers will begin competing for the Red Flash next school year as part of the Fall 2021 recruiting class.
