Spring 2025 Opening Match

Set 1 

Evoker starts the first game of the Spring 2025 season on PS2 against Monmouth University's Yoshi. Evoker lost the first stock of the game from self-destructing (SD). Evoker gets Yoshi to 129.1% damage and takes Yoshi's stock using up tilt. Both teams lost another stock, but Evoker lost his last stock trying to recover. Louis comes in next to take on Yoshi. He breaks Louis's shield with a down b special, then while Louis was stunned, Yoshi used forward smash to take a stock. Louis rebounds using forward air to take Yoshi's last stock at about 130% damage. Game three is on small battlefield. Louis, with two stocks left, takes on Terry. Louis lost the first stock of game two to side b with more than 110% damage. Louis takes the next stock using down tilt into up b killing Terry at 177% damage. Louis gets in his zone and takes Terry's last two stocks using back air into up tilt and edge guarding, respectively. Now with one stock left, Louis takes on Bayonetta on small battlefield. Louis takes the first stock from Bayonetta with neutral air. However, Louis's reign ended when Bayonetta took his last stock with back air. Louis took a total of five stocks for Saint Francis University. Kirbs takes on Bayonetta, who has two stocks left. Kirbs lost the first stock of the game to forward smash, but she quickly used her fishing rod forward throw and took a stock from Bayonetta. Using down tilt, Kirbs takes Bayonetta's last stock. Samus comes in next for Monmouth. Kirbs lost her last two stocks consecutively to neutral b and a hit by back air that was called "untechable." Teo comes in to finish Set 1. They each use a lot of edge guarding, but Teo falls first trying to recover. The next stock is taken from Teo using up throw before Teo came back and used back air to take a stock from Samus. However, with 166% damage, Teo's last stock was taken from a dash attack. 

 

Set 2 

Evoker begins set two against Terry. Evoker takes the first stock from Terry using up smash. Evoker lost his stock next but made a comeback to take the next stock from Terry, at 182% damage, using jab. Evoker lost his next stock to a jab-jab into side b maneuver. Evoker wins the first game using back air to take Terry's last stock. Evoker takes on Yoshi next but lost his last stock before taking one from Yoshi. Next Kirbs comes in to take on Yoshi, each with three stocks. Kirbs takes Yoshi's first stock using up smash before losing her next two stocks to the same move. Yoshi lost his second stock to a side b into up throw with fishing rod maneuver. They enter into an intense battle to take each other's last stock, but Kirbs comes out on top, taking Yoshi's last stock using side b into forward throw. Bayonetta enters the next match to try and take Kirbs' last stock. Kirbs took two stocks from Bayonetta, using down smash and side b into up throw respectively, before losing her last stock. Stepping into Hallow Bastian, Louis takes Bayonetta's last stock with a down b attack while Louis had over 200% damage. Louis, still with three stocks, takes on Samus. Unfortunately, Louis lost all three stocks. Teo faces Samus next in the last game of set two. Samus lost stock first to Teo's back throw. Teo got gimped and lost a stock, and after a long fight, Samus breaks Teo's shield and takes a stock using up smash. Teo counters with a down smash to take Samus's second stock. However, when the battle got intense, Teo lost his last stock. 

The team's next game is against Purdue University next week on Monday, February 3rd.
