March 25th was quite the exciting day for SSBU Team Red as they achieved an astounding victory against the Golden Knights. The battle was quite the emotional journey, but the team proved they could better the odds and come out on top.
Starting off, Logan (Julip) Kearns as Banjo & Kazooie against Lucina, both starting off with three stocks each. Immediately, Juilp takes Lucina's first stock and is then sent into kill percent after Lucina respawns into the arena. Banjo then goes in with another wave of brutal attacks and claims Lucina's second stock. However, she then retaliates by unleashing her own barrage of attacks, claiming Julip's first stock, leaving the score at 2-1. Julip is once again sent into kill percent and loses his second stock, now being tied with Lucina. Julip chooses to not let this phase him and unleashes a rapid attack that takes Lucina's final stock resulting in SFU winning the match!
Julip continues against the Golden Knight's next opponent: Wolf. Banjo starts off this match with only one stock against Wolf, who has three. Instantly, Wolf takes some pretty heavy hits at 9:04 and ends up losing his first stock to Banjo. The score is 1-2, and at 8:30, Julip is in kill percent, eventually losing his last stock to Wolf. The Golden Knights claim the win for this matchup.
Up next in the lineup is Ethan (Str8shot) Walker as Wii Fit Trainer (WFT) versus Wolf. WFT has three stocks against Wolf who now only has two, and within a blink of an eye, the battle begins. At the beginning of the match, WFT starts off by taking some pretty hefty attacks and is sent into kill present at 8:56. However, Str8shot is completely unphased and attacks Wolf using up-air, claiming his second stock. The score is now at 3-1, and Str8shot remains in kill percent but shows no sign of backing down. Immediately after Wolf respawns, WFT takes advantage of the situation and attacks him, taking Wolf's final stock using forward-tilt; and with that, SFU wins this matchup!
With Str8shot defeating Wolf, he continues against a new opponent sent in by the Golden Knights: Snake. Now Snake has proven to be quite the heavy obstacle in previous matches, however, SSBU Team Red plans on not letting this obstacle achieve victory. Both sides have three stocks each, and at 9:23, Snake and WFT are both in kill percent. Within a few seconds, Str89shot loses his first stock, followed by WFT taking Snake's first stock as well. This results in the game being tied 2-2. Str8shot respawns into the arena and is rapidly bombarded by Snake and loses his second stock. Snake does not seem to be letting up as he attacks WFT once more, claiming her final stock. At the end of this match, Golden Knights claimed victory.
Next entering the arena is Carmen (Teo) Lefoer as Luigi against Snake. Starting this match off, Luigi has three stocks against Snake with two. Snake is immediately sent into kill percent at 9:31, and Teo rushes in taking Snake's second stock. The game score is now 3-1, and Teo is quite determined to defeat Snake. Soon after Snake respawns, he sends Luigi into kill percent and loses his first stock, the score at 2-1. However, Teo shrugs it off and rapidly claims Snake's final stock, resulting in SFU winning this match.
As the second round of matches begins, Logan (Juilp) is first up to the plate against a new opponent known as Ike. Both opposing forces begin with three stocks each, and at 9:18, the battle starts becoming quite turbulent. Julip is instantly sent into kill percent and loses his first stock against Ike, setting the score at 2-3. However, soon after reentering the arena, Banjo attacks Ike with some powerful techniques of his own and ends up taking Ike's first stock as well leaving the game tied. It is down to the final minutes of the matchup, and Julip has now also lost his second stock and after respawning has been sent into kill percent once more, resulting in his final stock being taken by Ike as well. With this, the Golden Knights have earned victory for this match.
Ethan (Str8shot) emerges as the next opponent to face off against Ike, WFT having three stocks, and Ike only having two, and the determination within Ethan's eyes could be seen from miles away. WFT takes some heavy hits in the beginning and eventually loses her first as well as her second stock to Ike. However, after respawning, WFT sends Ike into kill percent at 7:21. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite enough to send Ike out of the ring, and Ike claims WFT's final stock concluding the Golden Knights as the overall victors in this match.
Carmen is next up against Ike who is proving to be quite the challenging enemy. Teo is ready and up for the task, entering as Luigi who has three stocks against Ike with only two. Ike is immediately sent into kill percent at 9:15 and loses his second stock of the match, the game being set at 3-1. After reentering the arena, Luigi goes in once more, unleashing a massive wave of combo attacks that once again sends Ike into kill percent. He ends up claiming Ike's final stock, unveiling SFU as the winners of this match!
Being that Carmen was the victor in the previous match, he continues against Wolf. Luigi enters in with two stocks while Wolf enters in with three, and tension begins to arise. Teo is sent into kill percent around 9:10 though Luigi still manages to take Wolf's first stock; the game score now at 2-2. Unfortunately, Wolf doesn't seem to be backing down and launches a barrage of attacks, claiming Teo's second stock. Suspense is building as Luigi reenters the arena and assaults Wolf with brutal attacks that not only sends him into kill percent, but takes his second and final stock. SFU wins the match!
Carmen continues in this next match against Snake with Luigi having one stock and Snake with all three. Teo doesn't let the fact that he only has one stock stop him as he rapidly overwhelms Snake and takes his first stock leaving the game score at 1-2. However, at 8:14, Luigi is sent into kill percent and loses his final stock resulting in Golden Knights claiming victory.
Logan enters in once more as Banjo against Wolf in which both sides have three stocks each, and the atmosphere is elevating as it gets closer and closer to the end of the matches. Banjo starts off by taking some heavy hits in the start and is sent into kill percent followed by him losing his first stock. After respawning, both Wolf and Banjo suffer a good amount of damage and are both in high kill percent; However, Wolf is the one to lose his first stock. The score is now 2-1, and Logan ends up taking a powerful attack from Wolf resulting in him losing his second stock. The game is now tied 1-1. However, Julip refuses to give up this victory and attacks Wolf one final time, taking Wolf's final stock. SFU wins this matchup and continues onward!
Logan continues against Ike with Logan having one stock and Ike having three. The game lasts only for a few minutes before Ike loses his first and second stock by Julip. However, with one final and immense blow from Ike, Banjo loses his final stock, and the Golden Knights claim a swift victory for the match.
Next up is Ethan continuing against Ike who only has 1 stock left. Soon after entering into the arena, Str8shot loses his first stock setting the game score at 2-1. After respawning, he sends Ike into kill percent at 8:58 and eventually claims Ike's final stock with SFU winning this match!
Str8shot continues against Snake with WFT only having two stocks versus Snake with three. Quickly, the battles begin. WFT starts off by taking some pretty heavy attacks and is sent into kill percent. He loses his second stock, leaving the game score at 1-3. Snake is then sent into kill percent after WFT respawns and loses his first stock to sun salutation, the score now at 1-2. After Snake respawns, he begins unleashing a burst of powerful blows that ends up sending WFT into kill percent at 7:39. With one final swing attack from Snake, WFT is flung out of the ring and loses her final stock. With that, Golden Knights win this match!
Carmen (Teo) is the last contender of the night against Snake, and it has all come down to this battle; Snake only has two stocks left versus Teo who has all three and tensions are running high. Starting off this battle, Luigi is attacked by Snake's grenade attacks and is sent into kill percent at 9:15. Teo unfortunately loses his first stock to a lethal kick attack from Snake, leaving the game tied at 2-2. Snake is then sent into kill percent but manages to take Luigi's second stock, altering the game score from 2-2 to 1-2. Now Snake is in kill percent at 7:53, and you can tell from Teo's playing that he is determined to win. Luigi quickly takes Snake's second stock leaving the game once again tied at 1-1. With one final blow by Luigi, Snake is sent flying from the ring, and Luigi wins the match. With that, SFU's SSBU Red Team has won the overall game and continues marching forward as the weeks progress!
